Yesterday MSC launched a new service linking Europe with the Red Sea and the Middle East in response to growing demand for transport along this route.

The aim of the Italian-Swiss company is to use the Red Sea ports as logistics hubs for the onward transport of goods by land to Saudi Arabia, whilst final delivery to the Gulf markets will be handled by feeder vessels.

This initiative integrates the land bridge logistics into the carrier’s core network at a time when geopolitical tensions in the Gulf are reshaping regional shipping routes.

The Europe–Red Sea–Middle East Express service is due to start on 10th May. It will follow the following eastbound rotation: Gdańsk – Klaipėda – Bremerhaven – Antwerp – Valencia – Barcelona – Gioia Tauro – Abu Qir – King Abdullah – Jeddah – Aqaba.
