The heart of Greece beat festively on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, in the village of Lithi in the remote area of Chios. Early in the morning, the 12 students of the Elementary School and the 2 from the kindergarten, together with their educators and the residents of the village, gathered at the Holy Church of Panagia Vatousaina to participate in the Divine Liturgy and the Doxology and to partake of the immaculate mysteries.
This was followed by a parade from the village square to the Fallen Heroes’ Memorial where the students recited poems and sang songs for the heroes of 1821. The young teacher Konstantinos Zyglakis delivered the day’s celebratory speech, followed by the laying of a wreath by the Community President Nektarios Kavakakis.
Congratulations to the few students and their educators, as well as to the residents of Lithi who honored our National Anniversary with pride.
