Navios Partners reaches milestone, welcoming first LNG-powered vessels to its fleet

Angeliki Frangou-led Navios Maritime Partners has reached a significant milestone with the latest newbuilding additions to its giant fleet

The Greece-based, US-listed owner has taken delivery of 7,700-TEU LNG dual-fuel vesselHMM Ocean, marking the first LNG-powered ship in its fleet. Notably, this is also HMM’s (the charterer) first LNG-powered container vessel.

According to Navios’ official disclosures,HMM Ocean is fixed until 2028 at a daily rate of US$56,494, with multiple extension options extending the charter period until 2037.In a noteworthy development, Navios also welcomed a female chief engineer on board the vessel.

The delivery ofHMM Ocean marks the 11th container vessel to join Navios’ fleet since 2023. Alongside this ship, Navios has also taken delivery of its sister,HMM Sky, another LNG-powered container vessel. Both ships were built at South Korea’s HJ Shipbuilding and Construction.

The company is set to receive four additional 7,900-TEU container ships by 2026, all secured under long-term charter agreements.

New tanker addition

Navios’ expansion isn’t limited to container ships. The company has also taken delivery of 115,807-dwtNave Neutrino, the fourth /LR2 product tanker from its 16-vessel orderbook in this sector.

According to Navios, built at South Korea’s K Shipbuilding,Nave Neutrino has been designed with the latest environmentally friendly technology to optimise energy efficiency and safety. The vessel will be chartered until 2030 at a daily rate of US$25,253.

Following this latest delivery, Navios is set to receive 12 more /LR2 tankers between 2025 and 2028.

A diversified fleet

Navios Partners now operates a diverse fleet comprising 70 bulk carriers, 50 container vessels and 56 tankers, including newbuildings.

The companyreported US$1.3Bn in revenue for 2024, with a net income of US$367M. According to the latest financial update, Navios Partners has secured charters for 63% of its available vessel days in 2025, and 42% for 2026.
