A provider of towage services in Greek ports has added a newbuild escort tug to its fleet to enable it to handle larger vessels
Nemeca has increased its fleet operating in Greek ports with a newbuild delivered from Sanmar Shipyards after its construction in Turkey.
The Greek operator provides towage services in the ports of Piraeus, Thessaloniki, Corfu and Kavala and required a new vessel to handle larger ships.
Sanmar built Gaia to its Bigacay range of azimuth stern drive tugs using a RAstar 2900SX design by Canadian naval architect Robert Allan Ltd.
“Tug Gaia marks another milestone in our company’s journey to scale up its service capacity,” said Nemeca managing director Mario Mizzi, “guaranteeing the highest level of efficiency and safe operations to all our clients calling in the Greek ports.”
Nemeca provides harbour towage, opensea towage and salvage services and can also provide vessels for anchor handling, rig moves and supply duties.
