A “new container service” is set to arrive at the docks of Terminal Darsena Toscana in Livorno starting from September.
The phrase is written in black and white in an application that the concession company controlled by the Grimaldi Group submitted to the Livorno Port System Authority, requesting “authorization for the use, for a period of four months starting from 1.9.2025, of an uncovered maritime state-owned area of approximately 2,240 square meters, located in the Torre del Marzocco area, in the Port of Livorno (more precisely identified in the attached brown-hatched map), in relation to the start of port operations connected to a new container service managed by the terminal.”
Neither the company nor the authority—which only clarified that the request for additional space is linked to the “suspension of other areas from the concession due to work at Torre del Marzocco”—has provided details about the upcoming new service.
