The invoices of the two Finnish companies are slightly increased
In the second quarter of this year, the turnover of Kalmar, a Finnish manufacturer of handling equipment for the port and logistics sector, reached 420.4 million euros, an increase of +0.9% compared to the same period in 2024, of which 275 million came from equipment sales (-1.4%) and 144 million from service sales (+3.6%). Operating profit was 53.9 million (+50.1%), with contributions of 38.1 million from equipment sales (+4.7%) and 24.2 million from services (+0.8%). Net profit was 39.2 million euros (+25.6%).
In the April-June period of 2025, the significant increase in the value of new orders secured by Kalmar amounted to 450 million euros, a rise of +20.0%, driven mainly by the value of orders for new equipment, which reached 304 million euros (+27.7%), while service orders totaled 146 million (+6.6%). As of June 30, the value of the company’s order portfolio stood at 1.03 billion euros (+11.2%), of which 892 million related to equipment (+10.3%) and 135 million to services (+22.7%).
The company announced that in the second quarter of this year, demand in the port and terminal sector remained high worldwide. Kalmar reported strong growth in Europe and notable performances in the Asia, Middle East, and Africa regions, while demand in the USA was hindered by increasing market uncertainty.
Similarly, compatriot Konecranes, also active in handling equipment production, closed the second quarter of 2025 with an increase in new orders, totaling 1.10 billion euros (+13.3%), of which 435.6 million came from port equipment sales (+41.4%). At the end of the period, the company’s orderbook value was 2.91 billion euros (-2.4%), including 1.57 billion in the port equipment segment (-1.8%).
In the April-June 2025 period, Konecranes’ turnover reached 1.05 billion euros (+2.0%), with a contribution of 407.7 million from port equipment sales (+17.3%). Operating profit was 136.9 million euros (-0.7%), including a 47-million contribution from port equipment (+40.3%). Quarterly net profit amounted to 100.4 million euros (+0.7%).
