International Shipping Network learned on November 18th that Norway will appear as the Guest Country of Honour at the upcoming Marintec China 2025, highlighting Norway’s leading position in sustainable and digital maritime solutions. The Team Norway pavilion will bring together 40 of the world’s top exhibitors, including well-known companies such as Jotun, Kongsberg Maritime, Goltens, Sperre Kompressor, Wilhelmsen Ships Service, and TMC Compressors.

Marintec China is one of the world’s largest and most influential maritime trade exhibitions, held from December 2nd to 5th, 2025, at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). For over 40 years, this exhibition has served as a bridge between China and the international maritime community, providing an excellent opportunity for maritime professionals to gather and expand their businesses.

“We are looking forward to returning to Shanghai for Marintec China and are delighted to see so many members of Team Norway participating. We have successfully expanded the size of our pavilion, and everyone is showing great enthusiasm,” said Erlend Prytz, CEO of Norwegian Maritime Exporters (NME).

“We have also maintained close cooperation with the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Beijing and the Royal Norwegian Consulate General in Shanghai, and we are very grateful for the support provided by the diplomatic missions. We look forward to welcoming the official Norwegian delegation—including a Norwegian Minister, the Norwegian Ambassador to China, and the Consul General—to our pavilion this week.”

The organizer of the Norwegian pavilion, Norwegian Maritime Exporters (NME), stated that this year, the Team Norway pavilion is the largest in its history and the fourth largest national pavilion at this year’s exhibition, covering an area of 732 square meters.

Inside the Norwegian pavilion, in addition to the exhibition booths of various companies, there is a comfortable lounge furnished by the renowned Norwegian furniture brand Ekornes. The pavilion also features a French bakery that provides lunch daily for the Team Norway exhibitors.

“China and Norway have a strong, long-term cooperative relationship in the maritime field. Our two countries have a solid foundation and great potential for further cooperation. We see significant opportunities for collaboration in areas such as the green transition of shipping and future-oriented technological solutions, carried out in a safe and sustainable manner. I look forward to participating in Marintec China together with our Minister, meeting with representatives from Norwegian companies and their Chinese partners, and demonstrating our support for the extensive cooperation between our two countries in this field,” said His Excellency Mr. Tore Wiig, Norwegian Ambassador to China.

Marintec China 2025 is expected to attract over 2,200 exhibiting companies, with an exhibition area of 110,000 square meters, including 16 national pavilions, and over 100,000 professional visitors from 100 countries and regions. The exhibition will showcase the entire shipbuilding industry supply chain, offering a unique experience of the industry’s cutting-edge developments.

“As the Guest Country of Honour, Norway will actively participate in the events of Marintec China. Team Norway China will organize a series of events, seminars, networking sessions, and business meetings, including the Norway Night reception,” said Tobias Svenningsen, Norwegian Consul General in Shanghai.
