Operaciones Portuarias Canarias SA (Opcsa), a subsidiary of Terminal Investment Limited Group (TiL), signed a five-year service contract with Konecranes Port Services effective from November 2025.

The full-scope agreement, which was booked in the third quarter of 2025, includes preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as 24/7 standby support for the terminal’s growing equipment fleet, both from Konecranes and other brands.

The Port of Las Palmas is the largest and busiest seaport in the Canary Islands. Opcsa manages the main container terminal with six hybrid Konecranes RTG cranes. The delivery of eight more is scheduled for the second quarter of 2026. By switching service providers, Opcsa will benefit from specialized expertise to maximize crane performance and availability.

“We are very satisfied with the performance of our hybrid Konecranes RTGs, so extending the collaboration to the maintenance area was the next logical step. This gives us the confidence that those who know the cranes best will keep them in optimal condition as our terminal grows,” said Carlos Rodríguez Mendoza, Technical Director of Opcsa.

The five-year agreement aims to provide higher maintenance standards and timely availability of technicians. The daily service will be provided by a Konecranes Port Services team based in Las Palmas, backed by the unit’s regional headquarters in Valencia. An expanding team supports customers in eight Mediterranean countries.

“We have worked hard to build a strong service reputation with ports across the region. This new agreement reflects Opcsa’s confidence in that track record. Our experienced team in the Canaries will work side by side with the customer to ensure the optimal performance of every crane,” said Catarina López, Director of Port Services for Spain at Konecranes.
