The Panama Canal announced improvements to its transit reservation system with the goal of offering a more agile and accessible service for all customers. Furthermore, the operating hours of the Transit Reservation Office will be extended starting October 5, 2025.

“With this measure, the office will operate from 07:00 to 22:00 (local time), which will allow all customers, especially those located in distant time zones, to conduct their business without having to wait until the next business day,” communicated the Panama Canal Authority (ACP).

During the extended hours, all transactions can be carried out, including auctions. However, the tie-breaking competitions that are held at the beginning of each competitive period will continue to take place at their usual times.

Additionally, starting with the reservation date of October 7, 2025, Reservation Period 3 will close at 15:00 (local time) every day, both on weekdays and weekends. This adjustment will apply equally to the three vessel categories: Neopanamax, Supers, and Regular.

“These modifications reaffirm the commitment to adapt to the needs of the maritime industry and customers, maintaining a reliable and competitive service globally,” concluded the ACP.
