The Bioceanic Road Corridor of the PY15 route, on the Mariscal Estigarribia–Pozo Hondo section, registers almost 90% progress in the formation of the main embankment of Lot 2. To date, 53 kilometers of platform have been consolidated out of the 59 planned.
This front is under the responsibility of the Consorcio Chaqueño del Norte, made up of the companies LT S.A., Constructora Heisecke S.A. and Benito Roggio e Hijos S.A. Its execution is part of a strategic intervention to strengthen regional connectivity and position the Paraguayan Chaco as a key axis for freight transport in South America.
Regarding the road structure, the soil stabilization tasks with lime reach 88% progress, equivalent to 52 kilometers processed and released. In turn, the soil-cement layer registers 69% execution, with 41 kilometers ready for the following stages.
The placement of the stone base reached 36% with 21 kilometers executed. In parallel, the final phase of definitive paving began, with the first 6 kilometers of asphalt concrete base completed.
The undertaking is financed through the Financial Fund for the Development of the La Plata Basin (Fonplara). In addition to its impact on connectivity, it generates economic dynamism in the department of Boquerón through the creation of direct jobs, with participation of local labor and indigenous communities of the area.
Once completed, the new road will allow improving the commercial flow between the Atlantic ports, in Brazil, and the Pacific ports, in Chile, reducing logistics costs and strengthening the strategic role of Paraguay in the region.
This third section of the PY15 route covers a total length of 224 kilometers, divided into four execution lots, all in the department of Boquerón. It is one of the most relevant road works for regional integration, due to its capacity to connect markets, shorten distances and boost international freight transport.
