Passenger traffic in Alicante increases by 38% and vehicle traffic by nearly 36% during the Operation Crossing the Strait

On June 15, the Strait Crossing Operation began in various Spanish ports. Since then, in Alicante, a total of 34,693 passengers and 11,183 vehicles have passed through. Until August 10, passenger traffic departing from Alicante or returning from Algeria to the Alicante port has increased by 37.9%, while vehicle traffic has recorded a 35.7% increase. The port of Alicante handles 3% of the national movements in the OPE. The Strait Crossing Operation, which will conclude on September 15, is proceeding so far without significant incidents.
