Peninsula has begun physical marine fuel supply in Mauritania after securing a licence from the Mauritanian National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNHY).

The marine fuel supplier and trader is currently using two barges able to deliver fuel oil and 0.1% low-sulphur marine gas oil (LSMGO) in line with ISO 8217:2022 specifications.

Approval covers up to three bunker craft, giving the business scope to increase capacity as demand develops.

Peninsula claims it was the first company to receive a licence for physical supply in the market following a recent tender process. It follows Minerva Bunkering’s announcement last week that it had commenced bunkering operations in Mauritania after also receiving a licence from the National Hydrocarbons Commission.

Enquiries can be sent to mrtsupply@ or submitted through Peninsula’s online contact form.

The new location adds to Peninsula’s physical supply network. The marine energy group handles procurement, storage, blending and delivery in selected ports, while also trading in locations where it does not operate its own assets.

Peninsula offers conventional marine fuels, biofuels, LNG, bio-LNG and other alternative fuel options.
