Peruvian exports border USD 63 billion between January and September

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru (Mincetur) reported that exports reached USD 62.864 billion between January and September 2025, representing a growth of 17.3% compared to the same period in 2024, thanks to the combined increase in exported volumes (+9.4%) and prices (+7.3%), reflecting the dynamism and competitiveness of the country’s foreign trade.

“The export sector is strengthened not only by a favorable international scenario, but by a national export policy that has laid the groundwork for the sustained increase in our exportable supply. For this reason, from the Transitional Government, one of the first decisions was the pre-publication of the National Multisectoral Foreign Trade Policy to 2040, the roadmap that will allow us to establish the actions to continue consolidating the sector and maintain this growth,” highlighted the head of Mincetur, Teresa Mera Gómez.

At the sectoral level, national agro-exports reached shipments of USD 9.809 billion (+21.4%), highlighting the export record achieved by avocado (USD 1.452 billion), cocoa beans (USD 821 million), natural colorants (USD 308 million), and pomegranate (USD 114 million). Other products that showed positive performance are grapes (+38%), mangoes (+61%), asparagus (+4%), pineapple (+105%), quinoa (+14%), and /peppers (+11%).

On the other hand, the fishing sector exported goods worth USD 3.853 billion (+22.2%), highlighting jumbo flying squid (USD 1.081 billion), fishmeal (USD 1.677 billion), shrimp (USD 159 million), and fish roe (USD 77 million).

Meanwhile, mining exports totaled shipments of USD 40.923 billion (+19.3%), highlighting that gold exports reached USD 13.930 billion, surpassing the 2024 record. Sales of silver concentrates (+20%), lead (+20%), zinc (+17%), and copper (+12%) also grew.

Other sectors with positive performance include chemicals, with USD 1.412 billion (+4.7%), due to products such as explosives, zinc oxide, and medicines; and textiles and apparel, with USD 1.292 billion (+6.7%), thanks to increased shipments of clothing, fabrics, and fibers.

The number of exporting companies reached 8,869, an increase of 3.7% compared to the same period the previous year. Of these, 68% are MSMEs (micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises).

Between January and September 2025, Peruvian exports of goods reached 167 markets, with record shipments to the United Arab Emirates, Australia, Turkey, Argentina, Singapore, Cambodia, Israel, Jordan, Zimbabwe, and Vanuatu.

During this period, China remains the main destination for Peruvian products, with shipments of USD 22.910 billion (+23%); followed by the European Union, with USD 7.240 billion (+23.6%); and the United States, with USD 6.708 billion (+8.2%).

Between January and September 2025, 19 inland regions of the country increased their exports. Huánuco (up 141%), San Martín (+107%), Amazonas (+65%), and Cajamarca (+64%) were the most notable.
