The luxury cruise ship Scenic Eclipse docked at the Port of Paranaguá, with 189 crew members and 202 passengers, Europeans and North Americans, who had already passed through São Sebastião, on the coast of São Paulo, and will continue to São Francisco do Sul, in Santa Catarina.

“This is the second time that the Scenic Eclipse has docked near Ilha do Mel, which shows the interest of foreign tourists in the beauty of the Paraná coast,” said Luiz Fernando Garcia, executive director of Portos do Paraná.

“The arrival of cruise tourists generates employment and income for the coastal population. This represents a great benefit for the region and all coastal municipalities,” said Leonaldo Paranhos, state secretary of Tourism.

“The ships that dock at the Port of Paranaguá, which has a solid infrastructure to receive cruise ships, attract tourists, often international ones. These tourists return to their places of origin and recommend Paraná as a destination. This is what we work on to promote tourism,” said Irapuã Cortes, executive director of Viaje Paraná, the state tourism promotion agency.

Merchants from Ilha do Mel received two English courses offered by Portos do Paraná prior to the last arrival. “At the residents’ request, we have already offered two free courses to improve our service to cruise passengers,” said Garcia.
