Bellinzona, – Third-year students of the logistics program at the Centro Professionale Tecnico (CPT) of Bellinzona participated in a lesson held by the Eastern Ligurian Sea Port System Authority on the topics: maritime transport in the current global context, growing geopolitical uncertainties, conflicts, and customs policies impacting international supply chains. During the lesson, the new challenges and opportunities requiring more resilient, sustainable, and flexible logistic solutions were illustrated.

In this scenario, the Ports of Genoa confirm their role as a strategic platform for the Swiss logistic system’s access to the sea, offering a competitive and sustainable alternative to the traditional Northern European ports for the Confederation’s intercontinental traffic.

Thanks to modern infrastructure, constantly improving intermodal connections, and a network of specialized terminals, Genoa and Savona now represent a logistic hub of excellence for goods destined for the Swiss and Central European market.

The collaboration between the Western Ligurian Sea AdSP and the CPT of Bellinzona, active for several years now, aims to reduce the cultural and operational distance between Swiss logistics and the Ports of Genoa, bringing students and operators closer through thematic lessons, technical meetings, and direct visits to the Ligurian ports.

An educational path that combines skills, experiences, and visions, contributing to building a new generation of transport and supply chain professionals with a Euro-Mediterranean perspective.

The next appointment is set for May 2026, when the CPT students will be guests in Genoa for a field visit to port terminals and operational ships, with the support of training institutions and local operators.

“Investing in dialogue with Switzerland means strengthening the role of the Ports of Genoa as the natural gateway of Central Europe to the Mediterranean – stated the President of the Western Ligurian Sea Port System Authority, Matteo Paroli – It is essential that the new generations understand the strategic value of the Ligurian port system and the opportunities it can offer in terms of efficiency, sustainability, and global connections.
