The Superintendence of the Port of Itajaí received a visit from James Ermarth, political and economic advisor of the Consulate General of the United States in Brazil, in an agenda focused on strengthening institutional relations and expanding international cooperation between both countries.
According to the executive advisor of the Port of Itajaí, Thiago Morastoni, the meeting reinforces the strategic positioning of the port on the international stage. “We presented the economic potential of our port activity and the relevance of the local economy, highlighting opportunities for collaboration and development. This dialogue reaffirms our commitment to modernization, transparency, and the creation of an increasingly competitive environment for trade and investment,” he emphasized.
Morastoni led the meeting on behalf of the superintendent, Artur Antunes Pereira, with the participation of the general coordinator of Port Security Systems, Diogo Schmitt.
During the meeting, the main data and indicators of the Port of Itajaí were also presented to the councilor. In the first half of 2026, the port handled 1.2 million tons and, since the resumption of operations, has accumulated revenues of USD 40 million.
After the meeting, the councilor toured the port area and was able to observe the terminal’s operations up close.
