The growth of the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas in cargo movement is reflected in its more than 24.6 million tons operated by the end of October 2025.
The performance consists of 63% in imports, 27% in exports, and 10% in cabotage. The operation by cargo type remained at 48% containerized cargo, followed by 32% mineral bulk cargo, and the remaining 20% corresponds to automotive cargo, general cargo, agricultural bulk, fluids, and petroleum products.
Containerized Cargo
The containerized cargo operation at the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas totals 2,161,847, a figure that reflects a 9% growth compared to the same period reported in 2024.
These results were divided into 29% import, 28% export, and 43% transshipment. The containers were moved entirely by 75% land transport and 25% by rail.
Automotive Cargo
The automotive maneuvers carried out in the specialized terminals represented a 7% increase in vehicles, compared to the previous year, totaling 617,693 units by the end of October.
Import represents the largest proportion of traffic, with 72%, followed by export with 26% and transshipment with 2%.
By the end of October, 1,493 vessels had been operated, representing a 5% increase compared to the period of the previous year.
