Argentina recorded record growth in mining exports in the first nine months of the year, reaching 4213 million dollars, 32.9% more than the figure achieved in the same period the previous year.

According to official data compiled by the Trade Intelligence Management of the Argentine Agency for Investment and International Trade (AAICI), the increase takes place within a framework of rising international prices for minerals such as gold and silver, coupled with expanding lithium production, with seven projects operating in the country.

Thus, the amount of earnings recorded so far in 2025 by local mining marked a historical record for foreign sales for the accumulated first nine months of a year, the agency indicated in a statement.

As explained below, since mid-2024, the Agency has reinforced its strategy to promote foreign mining investments in Argentina.

For this reason, in March of this year the executive president of the AAICI, Diego Sucalesca, held meetings with several of the world’s main mining company leaders and promoted the more than 300 mining projects planned in the country at PDAC, the most important international convention of the sector globally.

The event, organized by the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC), brings together around 30,000 attendees from more than 130 countries in Toronto each year.

Argentina, according to various studies, has a great capacity to multiply its sustainable production of minerals such as lithium, gold, silver, and copper, as 75% of the territory is unexploited.

The country is also a producer of other minerals such as lime, borates, gypsum, bentonite, granites, and porphyries, and has enormous potential for the exploration of potassium, uranium, and critical elements such as rare earths, cobalt, nickel, vanadium, antimony, tungsten, graphite, and manganese.
