The Port Authority of Santander has reported that access for vessels to the Maliaño dock has been restored and therefore fishing activity, in its usual location next to the fish market. The president of Santander, César Díaz, has thanked the users of the dock for their patience in the face of a totally unexpected breakdown. “We have dedicated significant economic, technical, and human resources with an estimated budget of 1.3 million euros to restore normality as soon as possible,” explained the president of the Port Authority.

The work carried out has not only focused on repairing the detected pathologies, but also on the technical assistance of engineering firms, structural calculators, quality controls, installation of sensors, and monitoring of the mobile bridge mechanisms. César Díaz expressed his satisfaction because “now after eight months of intense work by the Port Authority, operations can return to normal,” he stated.
