Royal Caribbean is strengthening its presence in Mexico with two high-impact tourism developments. This involves the construction of a Beach Club in Cozumel and a private island in Costa Maya, inspired by the Perfect Day at CocoCay concept in the Bahamas. These new experiences will be available to cruisers in 2026 and 2027, respectively.

In a dialogue with , the associate vice president for Latin America at Royal Caribbean, Itzel Valdés, commented that “in Mexico we are going to have the Beach Club Cozumel project, which will be the second Beach Club launched by Royal Caribbean. The first one will be in Nassau Paradise Island, in the Bahamas, at the end of 2025. There are people who have traveled -for example, to the Caribbean- and already know Nassau. What we are looking for is to offer a Royal Caribbean-style experience, in terms of gastronomy, service, and exploration of this Beach Club concept.”

“We will open Beach Club Cozumel towards the end of 2026, with the goal of providing a different experience and fostering growth both in Mexico and Latin America, through Perfect Day Mexico. This will be our second private island, located in Costa Maya, in Mahahual,” she added.

The opening of Perfect Day Mexico is planned for September 2027. The tourism development project has a budget of USD 600 million, which will be materialized in a 90-hectare area for tourists to disembark from the company’s cruise ships in the south of Quintana Roo.

“We are employing local people, strengthening the community, building a community center and establishing a partnership with the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Quintana Roo (Uqroo). With this we seek not only to train people, but also to contribute to progress and infrastructure development,” Valdés emphasized.

“Royal Caribbean is also expanding the entire port area, renovating. For the artisans and retail part we will also have a specific space to be able to promote this. This project is aligned with a comprehensive vision to not only wish to bring more cruisers to Mexico, which in the end will be boosted as the fifth cruiser market and which will also be visited by more North Americans when Perfect Day Mexico opens, but also in how we help the community. In the end, we will be employing more than 3 thousand people in Mexico,” she expanded.
