The delivery to the new owners is expected within the first quarter of 2026. The company estimates that the transaction will yield an accounting profit of 4.4 million dollars, while the proceeds will be used to repay approximately 84.4 million dollars of debt and for general corporate purposes.
The sale is part of CCEC’s strategic shift towards the transportation of gas cargoes, such as LNG and new “green” commodities.
Since February 2024, the company has sold or agreed to sell 14 containerships, with total proceeds of 814.3 million dollars. Following the completion of the latest transaction, the containership fleet will be reduced to one vessel with a charter until 2033, with an extension option until 2039.
