Last week, the dry bulk vessel transaction market was quite active. Shipbroker Xclusiv stated in its latest weekly report that trading activity generally increased across all dry bulk vessel segments. In the Newcastlemax segment, the 208,000 DWT Bulk Sao Paulo, built by New Times Shipbuilding in 2020, was sold to an undisclosed buyer for $72.75 million; Jiangsu Ocean Shipping acquired the 206,000 DWT SAMC MG, built by Imabari Shipbuilding in 2006, for $25 million. In the Capesize segment, the 119,000 DWT Bastions, built by Shin Kurushima Dockyard in 2011, was sold to a Greek buyer for $17 million; a Chinese buyer acquired the 93,000 DWT Declan Duff, built by Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding in 2012, for $13.6 million. In the Kamsarmax segment, a Greek buyer purchased the 83,000 DWT Generosity, built by Shin Kurushima Dockyard in 2011, for $17 million; meanwhile, the 76,000 DWT Panamax vessel Navios Sun, built by Imabari Shipbuilding in 2005, was transacted for $8.3 million.
In the Supramax segment, the 56,000 DWT Jin Mao, built by Jiangsu Hantong Ship Heavy Industry in 2012, was sold to a Chinese buyer for $13.1 million; the Antigoni B, a sister ship built by the same yard in 2011, was sold to a Greek buyer for $12.5 million under the condition of pending Special /Dry Dock (SS/DD due); the 52,000 DWT Bulk Freedom, built by Tsuneishi Shipbuilding in 2005, was sold for $9.6 million. In the small dry bulk vessel segment, the modern scrubber-fitted Handysize bulk carrier Ocean Tact (built by Shikoku Dockyard in 2019, 36,000 DWT) was sold to an undisclosed buyer for $24 million; the Transformer OL (built by Shimanami Shipbuilding in 2009, 28,000 DWT) was sold at a high price of $9 million to an Indonesian buyer; the sister ship Danship Bulker, built by Imabari Shipbuilding in 2009, was sold to a Vietnamese buyer for $8.8 million.
Shipbroker Banchero Costa added in a separate report that in the dry bulk sector, the 208,000 DWT scrubber-fitted Newcastlemax BULK SAO PAULO, built by New Times Shipbuilding in 2020, was sold for $72.75 million. The 178,000 DWT Capesize CAPE AQUA, built by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding in 2009, was sold to a client related to Agricore for $25.5 million. The 93,000 DWT Post-Panamax DECLAN DUFF, built by Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding in 2012, was sold to a Chinese buyer for $13.6 million; the 92,000 DWT YUYO, built by Namura Shipbuilding in 2013, changed hands at an undisclosed price. The 61,000 DWT scrubber-fitted Ultramax ATHENA, built by Oshima Shipbuilding in 2011, was sold for $17.75 million; the transaction included a time charter contract with a daily rate of $14,750, for the period from December 2025 to February 2026. A Chinese buyer acquired the 56,000 DWT Supramax Jin Mao, built by Jiangsu Hantong Ship Heavy Industry in 2012, for $13.1 million.
