Siport 21 in collaboration with MDC Ingénierie (Morocco) presented a study focused on optimizing nautical access to ports through the probabilistic analysis of the Under Keel Clearance (UKC). The traditional deterministic approach for UKC assessment often provides conservative, simple, and generic access rules. Siport 21 proposes a dynamic, data-driven protocol that integrates tide, wave conditions, vessel squat, and the specific modernization of the ship’s behavior to define precise and reliable access criteria.

The methodology is aligned with the Smart Port and Industry 4.0 vision, offering port authorities and terminal operators a scalable tool to manage nautical operations with high precision. This approach represents a significant advancement in the management of port accessibility. By moving from static rules to probabilistic and real-time systems, Siport 21 enables ports to operate more efficiently while maintaining the highest safety standards.
