Sperry Marine has been selected to supply complete Integrated Bridge Systems for two hydrogen-powered, autonomy-ready container vessels ordered by Samskip and under construction at Cochin Shipyard Limited in India.

The 135-meter ships are scheduled for delivery in 2027 to operate a green-corridor service between the Oslo Fjord and Rotterdam.

Operating in zero-emission mode using green hydrogen, the vessels are expected to reduce annual CO₂ emissions by around 25,000 tonnes.

The bridge systems are designed with open architecture to allow integration of autonomous navigation solutions as they mature.

The package includes Sperry Marine’s NAVIPILOT 4500N autopilot, Advanced ARPA target tracking with ranges up to 40 nautical miles, and the Secure Maritime Gateway for cyber protection, remote diagnostics and shoreside support.

“Samskip’s level of ambition on emissions requires partners like Sperry Marine,” said Jeroen Hollebrands, Head of Newbuilding and Projects at Samskip, calling the vessels “a milestone for the maritime industry.”

Pascal Göllnitz, Product Line Manager for Integrated Bridge Systems at Sperry Marine, said “what sets this IBS apart is its open and flexible architecture,” combined with resilient sensors and cyber protection.

Sperry Marine Managing Director Guy Millard said the company is “proud to collaborate with Samskip and Cochin Shipyard Limited on this transformative project.”
