The two sides discussed the role of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the International Labour Organization (ILO) in supporting global shipping, the resilience of maritime transport and the welfare of seafarers.
The meeting took place shortly after the active participation of ICS in Hong Kong Maritime Week, where it co-hosted the second global trade summit for shipping. Mr. Li reiterated China’s support for the Clean Energy Marine Hubs initiative, which promotes the transition of shipping to clean fuels.
