Global pump OEM Sulzer has secured an order to supply multiple water injection packages to Seatrium for Petrobras’ next-generation P-84 and P-85 Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessels, the company said in a news release.

Sulzer said it met all acceptance criteria and application requirements set by the end user for both vessels.

To support construction, the company will provide fully integrated pump skids designed for maximum efficiency within a compact footprint.

Each package includes three BB5 9.5 MW water injection pumps with two BB1 660 kW booster pumps, as well as two BB2 850 kW seawater booster pumps, described as evolutions of Sulzer’s hydraulic portfolio. The skids will be delivered with tested pumps, motors, couplings and controls.

The manufacturing and integration will take place in Brazil, followed by full-power testing. Sulzer plans to assist with installation, commissioning and site integration tests, and to provide local aftermarket engineering support for up to 30 years.

Petrobras will deploy the new FPSOs in the Atapu and Sépia fields about 200 km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. Seatrium, identified as a global provider of engineering solutions to the offshore, marine and energy industries, is building the vessels, which are expected to set new benchmarks for efficiency and throughput. Each unit is designed for an oil production capacity of 225,000 barrels per day and processing of 10 million m³ of gas per day, using technologies that are estimated to reduce greenhouse gas emissions intensity.

Delivery of the pump packages is scheduled for early 2026, with advanced testing underway at Sulzer facilities.
