Uddevalla Hamnterminal AB plans to expand the existing pier in the West Port. The Swedish company’s project includes dredging the seabed, the construction of approximately 55 meters of pier, and backfilling with non-slip materials, in an area not covered by the current permit.
The measures relate to aquatic activities, in accordance with Chapter 11 of the Environmental Code, and to the need to expand the area in which Uddevalla Hamnterminal has a permit for port operations, in accordance with Chapter 9 of the same code.
Therefore, the company will apply to the Environmental Assessment Delegation of the Västra Götaland County Administrative Board for a modification of the operating permit. For these assessments, a joint environmental impact report will be prepared.
Previously, consultations are being carried out with the authorities and interested parties so that comments can be submitted on the content and scope of the upcoming environmental impact assessment. The consultation documents are available to the public at the terminal.
