The port of Tarragona has made a very positive assessment of its participation in the 59th annual meeting of the European Petrochemical Association (EPCA). In this sense, although the petrochemical industry does not present positive feelings regarding the evolution of the European market, business opportunities are being detected in the Mediterranean, which both Tarragona and the ChemMed cluster want to take advantage of. This annual EPCA meeting brought together more than 2,500 professionals from more than 500 companies in Berlin for four days with the aim of enhancing the competitiveness of the European petrochemical sector and maintaining its leadership as an innovative industry.

In this sense, the meeting served to confirm that the sector must adopt a resilient, dynamic attitude to be able to face a complex environment with an unstable geopolitical situation, regulatory changes and the need to accelerate the sustainable transformation. The port of Tarragona’s delegation at the EPCA held about twenty meetings with representatives from the entire petrochemical sector value chain: producers, logistics operators, railway companies and terminals, among others.
