Katoen Natie, majority shareholder and operator of the Terminal Cuenca del Plata (TCP), reported that activities at the port facility, particularly truck service, will be halted due to a meeting of the TCP-Nelsury union.
“The general public and, especially, the trucking community are informed that operations will resume on Wednesday, 06/24 at 7:00 a.m. in accordance with the resolution of the meeting,” communicated the entity that is part of the multinational business group of Belgian origin.
The TCP-Nelsury union brings together workers of Nelsury S.A., a third-party logistics and operational services company that performs key tasks within TCP, at the Port of Montevideo, Uruguay.
The union includes among its members mooring workers, stevedores, machinery operators, and maintenance personnel; it is also affiliated with the Sindicato Único Portuario y Ramas Afines (Supra).
Given the foreseeable impact on the logistical flow and the surroundings of the port terminal, Katoen Natie reminded transporters that they can check the status and queues at Access A in real time via the webcam available on its official website.
TCP management assured that it will keep the port community informed of any last-minute changes in the development of the union day.
