Saipem has announced that it has been awarded a new offshore contract by Azule Energy Exploration (Angola) Limited and Azule Energy Angola BV, companies controlled by a joint venture between Eni and bp, primarily for transport and installation (T&I) services supporting the GreaterPAJ project, located approximately 200 km off the Angolan coast. The contract, with a duration of about 40 months, has a value of 1 billion dollars.

The Greater PAJ project, in the offshore of Angola, represents one of the most important ultra-deepwater developments in sub-Saharan Africa.

Under the contract, Saipem will be responsible for the engineering, fabrication, transport and installation of approximately 180 km of rigid pipelines and subsea structures, at a maximum depth of 2,000 meters. The contract also includes the transport and installation of 38 km of flexible flowlines and jumpers and 54 km of umbilical cables.

Fabrication activities will be carried out at the Saipem yard in Ambriz, Angola, with the involvement of local companies and resources. For the offshore installation campaign, Saipem will employ its state-of-the-art construction vessels, including FDS and Castorone.

The award of this contract strengthens the collaboration between Saipem and Azule Energy and confirms the Group’s positioning as a reference partner in the development of complex offshore projects in Angola, leveraging consolidated engineering expertise, state-of-the-art technological assets, and a deeply rooted industrial presence in the country.
