Terminal Puerto Arica (TPA) recorded its highest transfer level of the year in September, moving 311,393 tons, which represented an increase of 15.6% compared to the same month in 2024.

The growth was especially reflected in the container segment, which experienced an increase of more than 25% compared to the same period the previous year.

Regarding the transfer of bulk goods, 82,780 tons were moved, with clean bulks such as soy, corn, and wheat and mineral concentrates standing out, representing a growth of 2.6% compared to September 2024.

Regarding market share, Chilean transit received a significant boost thanks to the import of clinker and the movement of other types of cargo, reaching a share of 33.18% of the monthly total. For its part, the Peruvian market remained around 5%, while the Bolivian market concentrated the largest part of the transferred volume.

Regarding projections for the end of the year, Catherine Torres, commercial manager at TPA, stated that “for this last quarter we project maintaining the positive trend in transfer volumes observed in recent months, which would allow us to exceed the tonnage moved during 2024. This growth is a result of our clients’ trust. We have strengthened the relationship with Bolivia, taking advantage of our proximity and connectivity, and also with the south of Peru, supporting its development and reaffirming our role as a strategic partner in its foreign trade.”

During the month, notable operations were carried out, such as the import of more than 30 thousand tons of clinker for national consumption, the servicing of the second factory ship with more than 110 thousand boxes of frozen fish, as well as the export of molybdenum and the import of mining tires from the south of Peru.
