Oslo – New details are emerging about the investments of magnate John Fredriksen, who is aiming for new constructions of Vlcc tankers, while his listed company Frontline is associated with a possible sale of an Lr2 fleet worth over a billion dollars. Fredriksen’s private investment company, Seatankers, has placed new construction orders at the Hengli Shipbuilding shipyards in China, at the same time as the builder also received orders from the largest Greek shipowner by number of ships, George Procopiou. According to market sources, the two shipowners account for 10 of the 12 orders recorded by the Hengli shipyard in the last two weeks.
