Shanghai, February 24 (CNS) (Reporter Jiang Yu) Reporters learned from Shanghai Customs on the 24th that the first month of operation for the pilot launch area of the Shanghai Oriental Hub International Business Cooperation Zone saw smooth, efficient customs clearance and overall stable, orderly operations. By the end of January, Shanghai Customs had supervised the entry and exit of 36,000 personnel participating in international exhibitions, business exchanges, and international training, as well as 2,389 batches of goods entering and exiting the zone.
On July 18, 2025, the “Interim Measures of the Customs of the People’s Republic of China for the Supervision of the Shanghai Oriental Hub International Business Cooperation Zone” was officially released, promoting the two-way free flow of “goods” and “personnel” within the zone. Relying on an intelligent supervision model, Shanghai Customs provides the greatest convenience for the entry and exit of personnel and articles. The Shanghai Oriental Hub International Business Cooperation Zone is China’s first entirely new special-type zone. The pilot launch area of the cooperation zone began its closed management trial operation on December 28, 2025.
Now, overseas personnel entering the zone with personal articles only need to undergo security access and animal and plant quarantine supervision; domestic personnel can register article information in advance before entering the zone, allowing for quick passage upon exit. This “front-line liberalization, second-line control” separate-line management model has expanded from the field of goods supervision to the field of natural persons, achieving the integration of three major functions within the zone: international business exchanges, exhibitions, and training.
At the end of January, the Shanghai Oriental Hub International Business Cooperation Zone welcomed its first large-scale international business event within the zone. During the event, Shanghai Customs ensured the smooth entry and exit of over 800 personnel, achieving zero delays in the entire process of supervision and service.
A relevant person in charge of Shanghai Customs stated that in the future, they will continue to unleash policy dividends in the Shanghai Oriental Hub International Business Cooperation Zone, contributing more “Customs wisdom” to this open hub. (End)
