The works aimed at improving security in the port of Santander take a new step forward with the awarding of the works for the security enclosure between the Raos pedestrian access and gate 1 for railway access, a project that must be completed next January, after an investment of 290,935 euros, against a tender budget of 313,542 euros, a 7.2% reduction.
This work is part of the Investment Plan to 2029 that the port of Santander has recently presented, which includes the remodeling of both the vehicle access control to the Maliaño docks and its surrounding area, for an amount of 1.6 million euros.
The objective is to continue improving the security levels of the port facility, preventing the entry of unauthorized persons, for which the enclosure will reach a height of 4.5 meters, will have a top finish of curved pipes that further hinders climbing and, therefore, intrusion, and the installation of new lighting and control cameras is also planned to, “improve visibility and surveillance in this section of the port enclosure,” as explained by the president César Díaz.
