LA SPEZIA – Entry of the container ship “ONE Friendship” into La Spezia Container Terminal (LSCT). On the evening of September 27, the ship’s first call took place as part of the renewed MD2 service in the Gulf of Poets. The service has just returned to include the La Spezia terminal in its rotation, guaranteeing an additional direct connection between the main ports of Asia and the quays of Fornelli pier, and confirming La Spezia’s centrality within the Alliance’s east-west routes in the Mediterranean.
With the arrival of the container ship “ONE Friendship” at LSCT, the partnership between the Contship group and the Premier Alliance, the Alliance between ONE, HMM and Yang Ming, is strengthened, following Hapag Lloyd’s exit from The Alliance.
The quayside operations took place as scheduled, with the ship casting off the following day, resuming its route towards the Far East. As per tradition, before departure, a commemorative crest was presented to the master Costel Mircea, in the presence of Vincenzo De Riccardis, operations director and Stretti Andrea, planning manager of LSCT, Marcello Di Francesco, shipping agent and Sergio Landolfi, manager of the Operations Office of Saimare.

Flying the flag of Hong Kong, the MV One Friendship has a nominal capacity of 15,250 TEU, and is among the most modern units employed within the service’s fleet, operated jointly with another partner of the Premier Alliance.
