The Port of Bodø and the contracting company Hent signed a contract for the construction of a new logistics terminal for PostNord for an estimated value of USD 9.67 million. Construction is expected to be completed in January 2027.

After a long process of planning, engineering, and public tender, it has finally been confirmed that the contractor will erect the new terminal that will house the Nordic logistics giant. The contract was signed by the President of the Port of Bodø, Inger-Hilde Wigen, and the Regional Director of Hent, Martin Pettersen.

“This is an important milestone for the development and modernization of the Bodø logistics center, and it truly demonstrates that the Port of Bodø is an attractive location for this type of business,” stated the Director of the Port of Bodø, Kjersti Stormo.

“We thank the Port of Bodø for their trust and look forward to contributing to the construction of a state-of-the-art logistics center for PostNord, together with our partners. This is a type of project with which we have extensive experience, and we will do our utmost to ensure that both the Port of Bodø and PostNord are satisfied with the final result,” stated Pettersen.

“We have been located in Bodø for over 50 years and never doubted that we are in the right place. We have carried out a good planning process together with the port and look forward to moving into a state-of-the-art logistics terminal in January 2027,” explained PostNord’s Project Director, Ronny Grøtvedt.

The new PostNord terminal will have a built-up area of 2,850 m2, with an associated external area of 8,700 m2. It will be built according to a standard that provides a Breeam Very Good environmental rating, which meets both the requirements of the Bodø Municipality for new public buildings and PostNord’s standard requirements for new terminals.

The Property Manager of the Port of Bodø, Truls Mortensen, led the design and the tender competition. “We have maintained an excellent collaboration with PostNord for many years, and I am extremely pleased that we are now implementing a modern, efficient, and environmentally friendly terminal, which will benefit them in the future. In this context, we are also pleased that the Port of Bodø and PostNord have signed a lease agreement for the terminal with a duration of 10 years, with an option for extension,” he stated.
