Yesterday, in Livorno, at the Sala Ferretti of the Fortezza Vecchia, a dissemination and evaluation event for the European project NeXTraIn.PortS took place, funded by the Erasmus+ 2021–2027 program and implemented in partnership between the Autorità di Sistema Portuale del Mar Tirreno Settentrionale (lead partner), the Fundación Valenciaport, the STC Group of Rotterdam, the University of Piraeus, the Centro di Formazione Logistica e Intermodale of the port of Venice, the Centro di competenza Start 4.0 of Genoa and Provincia di Livorno Sviluppo.
During the event, the results of the analysis conducted to identify the professional profiles involved in innovation processes in European ports were presented, which form the basis for defining new training pathways. Companies and institutions of the port and intermodal cluster from the partner countries played a central role in defining the sector’s development trajectories, confirming the importance of collaboration between the productive world and training.
The initiative saw the participation of institutional representatives, sector experts, and numerous port and intermodal sector companies, who actively contributed to the discussion with proposals and reflections on training needs and the skills required to face the challenges of digitalization and the energy transition.
The next step of the project will take place at the Port of Venice from October 24 to 28, followed by further activities in the ports of Valencia, Rotterdam, and Piraeus.
These experiences will offer participants the opportunity to compare good practices and to directly experiment with new methods and technological tools, including immersive solutions and augmented reality applications, with the aim of strengthening professional skills, promoting innovation in operational and management processes through new training models.
The event represented a moment of concrete and constructive discussion, confirming the strategic role of training in the sustainable and digital transformation of the European port system.
“The NeXTraIn.PortS project represents a decisive step towards building a more innovative, sustainable, and competitive European port ecosystem,” stated the Promotion and Training Manager of the AdSP MTS, Claudio Capuano, who added: “Thanks to the collaboration with companies and the use of immersive technologies, we are defining new training standards capable of responding to the challenges of the future”.
