El Puerto de Montevideo is working on the boarding of 28,400 heads of live cattle for export on board two vessels. The operation also considers loading 6,025 tons of feed for the animals.

In detail, the vessel Mawashi Express, with a length of 195.31 meters and a beam of 33.74 meters, will load 20,000 units and 4,700 tons of feed. The ship, which flies the flag of Panama, remains moored at berths 8 – 9 of pier B in the Uruguayan port area.

For its part, the vessel Saphira, whose length reaches 185.82 meters and its beam is 32 meters, will embark 8,400 heads of cattle and 1,325 tons of feed. The livestock carrier, which sails under the flag of Antigua and Barbuda, floats alongside sites 6 – 7 of pier B.

“Uruguay reaffirms the strategic role of its agribusiness as a driver of international insertion of its economy and the Port of Montevideo is a link that provides fundamental services for the export chain,” highlighted the National Port Administration (ANP).
