Veolia, SIPG Energy and VENEX sign strategic deal to build green methanol fuel network at Shanghai Port

Veolia, SIPG Energy (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and VENEX Company Limited signed a “Strategic Green Fuel Supply Cooperation Agreement” aimed at accelerating the energy transition at the Port of Shanghai, Veolia said in a statement.

The agreement focuses on developing comprehensive green methanol supply and distribution networks to create an end-to-end green fuel ecosystem from production to bunkering.

The three companies will combine Veolia’s global decarbonisation expertise and local energy solutions, SIPG Group’s advantages in port energy infrastructure, and VENEX’s experience in green methanol production and operations.

The partnership is expected to deliver sustainable fuel solutions for the port and shipping industries, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and promoting a low-carbon transition in maritime transport.

Veolia is a France-based multinational company providing environmental services in water management, waste processing, and energy solutions. It operates globally under Veolia Environnement S.A. and focuses on sustainable infrastructure and resource optimization.

SIPG Energy (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary of Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., Ltd., a state-owned enterprise that manages and operates the Port of Shanghai, one of the world’s busiest container ports. SIPG Energy specializes in port energy infrastructure and related energy management services.

VENEX Company Limited is a Hong Kong-based enterprise involved in energy and environmental technology sectors, focusing on the production and supply of green methanol and renewable fuels for industrial and maritime applications.
