On the morning of November 27, 2025, the “Zhen Guankou” (XSI463M), the third ship in the series of 7500-car LNG-powered pure car and truck carriers (PCTC) constructed by Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. for SANDER MARINE CO., LTD., was signed and delivered. Representatives from SANDER MARINE, Fujian Shipbuilding, Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd., COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Ocean Car Carriers COSCO SHIPPING, Shanghai Merchant Ship Design and Research Institute (SDARI), and the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) jointly attended the ceremony.
As the 36th PCTC delivered by Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry, during the construction period of the “Zhen Guankou,” the project team adhered to the concept of lean construction. By optimizing process flows and enhancing the overall completeness of the ship at the time of undocking, the production cycle during the dock commissioning phase was significantly shortened, laying a solid foundation for subsequent ship deliveries. Facing difficult problems during the construction period, all staff of Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry practiced the shipbuilding spirit of tackling challenges and enduring hardships, tenaciously adhering to production milestones with a “nail-driving” persistence, demonstrating Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry’s solid strength and professional level in the field of PCTC construction.
According to reports, this series of 7500-car LNG dual-fuel PCTCs, as globally leading clean energy vessels, boasts excellent performance parameters: with a total length of 199.9 meters, a molded breadth of 38 meters, a molded depth of 14.8 meters, and a design draft of 8.65 meters. It features 13 car decks (including 9 fixed decks and 4 movable decks) and can flexibly load 7,500 various vehicles including passenger cars, trucks, and engineering machinery.
The successful delivery of the “Zhen Guankou” injects strong momentum for Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry to successfully achieve its year-end closing plan.
