Yamaha showcases power at South Coast Boat Show

Today sees the start of the South Coast & Green Tech Boat Show which is taking place at Ocean Village Marina in Southampton, and Yamaha says the show will feature a ‘stellar line-up’ of its outboards and marine products.

It’s got twin Yamaha 300hp outboard engines on the Quarken 35 Cabin that is being presented by UK dealer boatpoint. The craft is touted as the ‘next-generation travel companion’ with state-of-the-art Nordic design.

boatpoint is also showcasing Ryds’ flagship 735 Vi (below). It features Yamaha’s 250hp V6 engine which is able to power the vessel’s sleek contours and deep V-hull on its smooth and stable ride.

“We are delighted to be bringing some of the hottest and eagerly anticipated boats to the South Coast Boat Show this year,” says Phil Jones, group new boat sales manager at boatpoint, whose craft will be accessible in marina berth 53-54.

“With the latest release from Quarken, the 35 Cabin, and the flagship model from Ryds, the 735VI, both powered by Yamaha, we believe that 2024 will be the year of the Nordic powerboat and are excited to see how these superb vessels are received.”

Meanwhile, Sea Ventures is showcasing the Wellcraft 355 with 900hp on the back provided by a trio of Yamaha 300hp V6 outboards at marina berth 67-69. This means it can reach speeds of over 50 knots. Close quarters manoeuvring is afforded by Yamaha’s Helm Master EX integrated boat control system, with joystick steering, smoother shifting and single function buttons for ease of operation.

“We’re excited to showcase the Wellcraft 355, where visitors can experience its standout features up-close,” says Mark White, Wellcraft powerboat manager at Sea Ventures. “Renowned for its cutting-edge performance courtesy of Yamaha’s triple 300hp engines, the Wellcraft 355 is the perfect fusion of power and precision, coupled with Yamaha’s Helm Master EX to ensure smooth, stress-free manoeuvring.”

AB inflatables (below) will have a variety of its robust aluminium boats on show, with BHG Marine, in the shoreside area (stand 19), including the Nautilus, Alumina and Lammina series. Each one of the inflatable tenders (in varying sizes), is paired with an appropriately sized Yamaha outboard.

In addition, BHG Marine is exhibiting the Linder 530 Arkip (below), powered by a Yamaha high-performance 100hp engine, that’s said to be ideal for cruising, skiing and fishing.

Plus, there’s a Linder 355 Sportsman fitted with a Yamaha 8hp outboard on display. Built with high-quality corrosion resistant aluminium, this boat is said to be the perfect choice for sheltered lakes and rivers.

Idealboat is also at the show with the Finnmaster T7 (main image above). It’s fitted with Yamaha’s 250hp V6 engine and comes from the Finnish manufacturer’s T-series.
