Shanghai, Oct. 9 (Xie Mengyuan) – According to information obtained by a reporter on the 9th from China Railway Shanghai Group Co., Ltd., starting from 0:00 on October 11, China Railway will implement the fourth quarter 2025 train operation diagram. For this diagram adjustment, the Yangtze River Delta railway department, centering on the overall goal of “improving passenger transport quality and increasing freight capacity,” has optimized and adjusted the existing passenger and freight train operation plans. After the adjustment, the total number of freight trains operating on the Yangtze River Delta railway will reach 1,367 pairs, a record high; the operation sections of some passenger trains have been optimized, with the total number of passenger trains remaining at 1,407.5 pairs, unchanged from before the adjustment.

With this diagram adjustment, the Yangtze River Delta railway has optimized the freight train operation plan by adding freight trains, supplementing freight train lines, and adjusting freight train flow routes, thereby increasing transport capacity, shortening transport time, and reducing transport costs; it will also handle the shift of freight from road to rail, supporting green and low-carbon development and high-quality regional economic and social development.

After the diagram adjustment, the total number of freight trains operating on the Yangtze River Delta railway will increase by 4.5 pairs; 32 freight trains will involve changes to their /terminating stations, operation routes, or train numbers; and 30 freight liner trains will have their /unloading organization stations adjusted.

In the new diagram, the Yangtze River Delta railway continues to enhance its intermodal transport and intercity logistics transport capabilities, further improving the railway express transport channels centered on the Yangtze River Delta region, radiating to major economic zones such as the northern coastal area, southern coastal area, middle reaches of the Yangtze River, middle reaches of the Yellow River, and the Chengdu-Chongqing twin-city economic circle. The new diagram increases the transport capacity resources between the major ports in the Yangtze River Delta region and will also add 4 pairs of freight trains between Beilun (Chuanshan) Port and Yiwu (Suxi) International Hub Port.

After the implementation of the new diagram, the annual intermodal transport capacity is expected to increase by 23,400 TEUs, approximately 280,000 tons; the annual intercity liner train capacity is expected to increase by 150,000 tons.

Furthermore, the new diagram continues to tap the potential of the existing passenger transport market, operating special trains for “Su Chao” and “Zhe BA” fans as needed; organizing and operating parent-child tourism and red tourism trains; promoting “trains heading towards scenic spots,” operating “Enjoy Traveling in the Yangtze River Delta” tourist trains as needed, while also operating the “Yangtze River Delta” age-friendly, inclusive tourist trains, providing multiple customized services suitable for the elderly.
