Yangzijiang Mitsui delivers second 36,000 cubic meter dual-fuel liquefied ethylene carrier.

On July 11, the second 36,000-cubic-meter dual-fuel liquefied ethylene gas (LEG) carrier, “Brave Future,” built by Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group’s Yangzi-Mitsui Shipbuilding for Norwegian shipowner Ocean Yield, departed from the shipyard, embarking on its maiden voyage.

On the morning of July 9, Yangzi-Mitsui held a grand naming ceremony for the vessel. Attendees included the ship’s godmother, Ms. Cristiane Rego; Ocean Yield COO Mr. Andreas Reklev; Braskem’s Trade & Transport CEO Mr. Hardi Schuck; Hartmann Group CEO Dr. Niels Hartmann, Executive Board Director Mr. Adami Ulrich, Newbuilding Director Mr. Ionut Cornea, and Greater China Regional Manager Mr. Long Yefei; DNV Senior Vice President and Regional Manager for Greater China Mr. Norbert Kray, and North China Regional Manager Ms. Yan Xiaolin; Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group Deputy General Manager and Yangzi-Mitsui General Manager Mr. Song Shuming; Group Deputy General Manager Mr. Ji Hongfei; Yangzi-Mitsui COO Mr. Fuki Koichiro, COO Mr. Tamura Mitsuji, CFO Mr. Ishimaru Yuji, Deputy General Manager Mr. Chen Guoqiang, CMO Mr. Nakao Shinichi, and General Manager Assistant Mr. Yang Lifeng, along with representatives from partners and employees.

Mr. Song Shuming, representing Yangzi-Mitsui, stated: “Following the successful delivery of ‘Brilliant Future’ in January this year, we now welcome the delivery of the second dual-fuel LEG carrier. On this occasion, we sincerely thank Braskem’s Ms. Cristiane and Mr. Hardi, as well as Ocean Yield’s Mr. Andreas. We also extend our gratitude to Hartmann Group’s Dr. Hartmann, Captain Adami, Mr. Ionut Cornea, and Mr. Long Yefei, as well as AC-INOX’s Mr. Sascha. We appreciate the unwavering support of the entire Hartmann team and DNV’s professional guidance. At the same time, we express our heartfelt thanks to all Yangzi-Mitsui employees involved in the vessel’s construction. Moving forward, we will continue to collaborate closely with all parties to develop and build safer, greener, and higher-performance green energy gas carriers for shipowners.”

Godmother Ms. Cristiane Rego named the new vessel and performed the champagne christening. Firecrackers crackled, fireworks bloomed, horns sounded, and lion and dragon dances enlivened the ceremony, wishing the ship and its crew safe voyages and brave journeys ahead. May it bring good fortune and prosperity to the shipowner and charterers, as well as honor to Hartmann, DNV, and Yangzi-Mitsui, and courage and hope to all.

On July 9, Ocean Yield COO Mr. Andreas Reklev and Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group Deputy General Manager and Yangzi-Mitsui General Manager Mr. Song Shuming signed the delivery documents on behalf of both parties.
