Recently, Hainan Yuzhou International Shipping Co., Ltd. signed a contract with Yihai Heavy Industry (Yangzhou) Co., Ltd. for the construction of a new 150-meter deck transport vessel.
This marks Yuzhou International’s second new deck transport vessel project this year and the second collaboration between the two companies following their 2023 partnership to build a 160-meter heavy-lift transport vessel for unlimited navigation areas. The signing not only represents another milestone in their deepened cooperation in high-end equipment manufacturing but also injects new momentum into their efforts to serve the global offshore transport market.
The new vessel measures 150 meters in length, with a beam of 33 meters, a depth of 8.6 meters, and a deadweight tonnage of approximately 12,000 tons. It has a service speed of 13 knots and a range of 10,000 nautical miles, capable of global navigation in unlimited areas while meeting the transit requirements of the Panama and Suez Canals. Construction is scheduled to begin in September 2025, with the vessel expected to enter service by November 2026.
The vessel will primarily serve sectors such as FPSO modules, refinery and petrochemical plant modules and tanks, port machinery, and offshore wind power. Its design is customized to meet client specifications and offers superior roll-on/roll-off cargo capabilities compared to existing vessels of similar size.
