On May 7, the offshore booster station and offshore compensation station construction project for the Shenneng Shanwei Honghaiwan VI Offshore Wind Power Project, undertaken by Zhenhua Heavy Industry, commenced with a steel-cutting ceremony.

The Shenneng Shanwei Honghaiwan VI Offshore Wind Power Project is located in the sea area near Shanwei City, Guangdong Province, covering an area of approximately 62 square kilometers, with the site center about 33 kilometers offshore. It is planned to install 36 wind turbines of 14 MW each.

The wind farm is planned to include one 500 kV booster station and one 500 kV compensation station, with a designed capacity of 500 MW. The topside modules of both offshore platforms are three-story structures. Among them, the topside module of the offshore booster station weighs approximately 3,380 tons, while that of the offshore compensation station weighs approximately 1,680 tons. The company is responsible for the construction of the topside modules of both offshore platforms.

Once completed, the project will further optimize the green energy layout in the Guangdong region, playing a significant role in promoting Shanwei City as a clean energy industry hub and advancing the achievement of the “dual carbon” goals.
