In the first half of 2026, the operating efficiency of CSSC Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) surged significantly. All five core indicators—revenue, profit, order intake, production value, and vessel delivery—achieved high-quality “half-time, half-task” results, setting a new historical best for the same period and delivering a mid-term report card marked by both quantitative and qualitative improvements and numerous highlights.

In the first half of the year, GSI secured batch orders for over 30 oil tankers, innovatively creating a new cooperation model directly connecting the shipyard with charterers, effectively enhancing its bargaining power in overseas markets. Precisely targeting high-end niche segments, it successfully secured orders for 8 Suezmax crude oil tankers and 2 high-end passenger ro-ro vessels. Currently, GSI’s total order book exceeds 100 billion yuan, with international orders accounting for over 95%, and production scheduling has been extended to 2030, establishing a solid and stable foundation for medium- to long-term development.

The synergistic effect of the integrated shipbuilding and repair industry has been fully unleashed. In the first half of the year, GSI completed a total of 47 ship repair and conversion projects. It delivered the high-quality conversion of the luxury passenger ro-ro vessel “GNV·Arctic Star”, completed the repair of the MARK III type LNG carrier “Dana Bodhi”, and the repair and conversion of the LNG bunkering vessel “Global Power”, achieving full coverage of LNG ship repair capabilities across all categories, fully demonstrating the core competitive advantage of the integrated “Built by GSI, Repaired by GSI” model.

GSI persists in advancing the “Four Generations” R&D system layout, focusing on key core technology breakthroughs in green, low-carbon, and polar special equipment. It has independently launched a series of industry-leading new ship types: 135,000 DWT ultra-large capacity /crude oil tanker, methanol fuel cell-powered passenger vessel “Artist”, 5,000-ton floating crane, PC3 4,400 TEU polar container ship, 2,700 /2,500 lane meter methanol dual-fuel luxury passenger ro-ro vessel, 15,000 m³ liquid CO2 carrier, zero-carbon emission large livestock carrier, and environmentally friendly hybrid MR tanker, among other new products, continuously enriching its green and high-end product portfolio.

The independent development team for the “Tansuo-3” research mother ship received the CSSC Science and Technology Innovation Award, propelling China’s manned deep-sea diving capabilities from full-ocean-depth to full-ocean-region coverage. GSI launched its enterprise “Smart Manufacturing ’15th Five-Year Plan’” development blueprint, established the digital foundation for a 5G fully connected smart factory, and put into operation intelligent panel production lines and automated welding and painting robot workstations. Digital and intelligent transformation has become a new growth engine for improving quality and efficiency.

In the first half of the year, the delivery milestones for various ship types at GSI significantly exceeded contract schedules.

From the smooth delivery of the luxury passenger ro-ro vessel “GNV·Helios” at the beginning of the year, to the completion and delivery of EPS’s 111,000 DWT LNG dual-fuel tanker nine months ahead of the contract schedule at the end of March; from the delivery of the world’s first 10,800 CEU car carrier attracting widespread online attention, to the 74,500 DWT /product tanker taking only 35 days from launch to sea trial, with overall delivery 145 days ahead of schedule. Major milestones were achieved consecutively in the first half of the year, with good news on production arriving one after another, as the efficient “GSI Speed” continuously set new industry records.

Currently, the shipbuilding industry faces both opportunities and challenges, and the task of achieving high-quality development throughout the year remains arduous and heavy. GSI will strictly adhere to safety and quality red lines, tap into growth potential with higher morale, more pragmatic measures, and a more robust work style, strive to exceed the annual production and operation targets, and endeavor to build a world-class shipbuilding enterprise, contributing GSI’s strength to building a world-class shipbuilding group.
