On June 23, OceanSTAR Elite Group (OceanSTAR) held the naming and departure ceremony for the LDV Floating Storage and Offloading vessel (FSO) at Tianshun Offshore Engineering’s Nantong base.

The FSO was jointly constructed by Tianshun Wind Energy’s subsidiary Nantong Changfeng Equipment New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. and OceanSTAR Elite Group. Representatives from Murphy Cuu Long Bac Oil Co. Ltd. (MCB), PTSC Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. (PTSC AP), OceanSTAR Elite Group, American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), Tianshun Offshore Engineering, as well as the Nantong municipal government and Tongzhou Bay Demonstration Zone, attended the event to witness this important moment.

As a key offshore production facility for the LDV oil field development, the LDV FSO was built under the EPCC model, with a designed storage capacity of 460,000 barrels. It will undertake crude oil storage and offloading tasks in the future, providing important support for the long-term stable production of the oil field. This naming and departure ceremony not only officially bestowed a name upon this floating storage and offloading unit but also marked the successful completion of the shipyard construction phase, as it is about to set sail for its operational sea area.

The platform has an overall length of 191 meters, a molded breadth of 39 meters, a molded depth of 29 meters, and a lightweight of 14,000 tons. It adopts internationally leading design standards, is equipped with an advanced single-point mooring system and a modern living area accommodating 80 people, requires no dry docking for 15 years after delivery, and has obtained certification from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).

Since the start of construction in February 2025, the project team has successively completed key milestones including steel cutting, keel laying, and vessel launching, advancing the project with high standards and high quality. During project execution, a cumulative total of over 1.6 million safe work hours with “zero lost time injuries (0 LTI)” was achieved, fully demonstrating the excellent execution capabilities of all teams and their relentless pursuit of safety and quality.

The successful naming and smooth departure of the LDV FSO represent another important milestone in the project’s development journey and embody the joint efforts of the owner, partners, and project team. In the future, OceanSTAR Elite Group will continue to collaborate with all partners, deeply cultivate the marine energy field, and contribute to the high-quality development of global offshore engineering with professional capabilities and excellent quality.
