The traffic of the port of Genoa mobilized a total of 20,624,560 tons in the first seven months of the year, a figure that represents a decrease of 3.4% compared to the same period in 2024, when the Italian enclave moved 21,359,959.
This is according to the latest figures published by the L’Autorità di Sistema Portuale del Mar Ligure Occidentale, the entity that manages the port of Genoa and the facilities of Pra, Vado Ligure and Savona.
Furthermore, the monthly data from the port of Genoa also does not show a change in trend. In the month of July, the Genoese facility – the enclave with the greatest weight among those managed by the L’Autorità di Sistema Portuale del Mar Ligure Occidentale – moved a total of 3,137,054 tons of goods, a figure that represents a decrease of 2.8% compared to June, where 3,227,299 tons were recorded.
In fact, the port of Genoa is the one with the worst results so far this year, where Pra also shows worse figures compared to 2024, with a decrease of 2% and a total of 7,572,079 tons; Savona, which drops by 2.5% (3,438,812 tons); and Vado Ligure (offshore), which suffers a decrease of 0.9% with 3,532,942 tons. In contrast, the positive note is given by Vado Ligure, which increases by up to 28% by mobilizing 2,573,655 between January and July of this year.
The decrease in goods contrasts with the container section. Among all four ports, 1,744,847 TEUs were mobilized between January and July 2025, which is 7.5% more than in the same period of 2024.
