The LNG carrier charter market continues to move at low speeds, with the East-West ‘scissors’, however, closing significantly in the last week.
According to a report by the shipbroker Fearnleys, the charter cost for an /XDF LNG carrier, with a capacity of approximately 174,000 c.m., fell east of Suez for the week ending Wednesday, October 1st. It now stands at $26,000 daily (-$3,000), while the charter cost west of Suez remained stable at $23,000 daily.
Regarding the one-year time charter market, the charter cost for an /XDF LNG carrier, with a capacity of approximately 174,000 c.m., retreated to $36,000 daily (-$2,000).
