The Consular Corps of Genoa and Liguria has announced that at the recent plenary assembly, the new Deanery for the two-year period 2026-2027 was elected and installed.
The position of Dean was confirmed to be Augusto Cosulich, Consul of Malta, and the positions were assigned as follows: Franco Aprile Vice-Dean (Consul of the Czech Republic), Giuseppe M. Giacomini Secretary General (Consul of Hungary), Anna Maria Saiano Master of Ceremonies (Consular Agent of the USA), Stefano Franciolini, Treasurer (Consul of Kazakhstan).
Further members of the Deanery are: Gianluca Kenzo Chiavari (Consul of Chile), Carlo Cavalleri (Consul of South Korea), Ivo Guidi (Consul of Indonesia), Giuseppe Durazzo (Consul of Albania), Fernando Alberto Linares Franco (Consul General of Panama).
The Consular Corps of Genoa and Liguria includes 59 Honorary and General Consulates and is the second most important in Italy. “The Consular Corps is therefore a fundamental tool for the internationalization and growth of the City of Genoa, having carried out for many years an assiduous service in favor of local institutions in their areas of competence and in full synergy with the individual member Consulates,” reads a note.
In the spring of 2026, the Consular Corps will organize the second edition (first edition in 2022) of a major event on the cultural and economic internationalization of the City of Genoa and the Liguria Region, titled “Genoa in the World – the World in Genoa”.
